Valuable Tutorial

I thought this was a valuable tutorial and definitely worth the cost. Rob teaches in a clear, concise and methodical manner, letting you know the plan beforehand, and why the plan deviates in the execution. Lots of 'tricks of the trade'. Rob and Kate have great creative energy and I felt her knowledge and artistic vision added value. Earth, the retoucher, offers a true wealth of knowledge. His Frequency Separation method raised my PS skills to the next level. I couldn't always follow him step for step, but that only means I can return to the tutorial and discover new methods.

My only constructive suggestion is this: when Rob and Kate are working through the shot, show the old photo in Capture One before showing the new one. Let us visually see the transition. Rob does a good job of verbally letting us know the intention behind the adjustments (ex: change in the composition or power in the lighting), however it is immensely more effective for us to see the old photo before the adjustments are made and then the new photo afterwards. Moreover, it allows us to return to the tutorial later and focus on subtle changes those adjustments may have on all aspects of the bottle, glass, background, etc.

Overall, I learned a lot from this tutorial and didn't hesitate to purchase Rob's Beer Course as well. Hope this review helps.
