CGI for Photographers Certification. What is it?
PRO EDU is offering certification in their new CGI for Photographers 6 Week Synchronous Course. What exactly does that mean, and how does it benefit photographers?
“We don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are” - Anaïs Nin
CGI is growing exponentially and being used to supplement and replace photography in many commercial settings. It won't be long before we also see CGI in other spaces, like portraiture, as well. The world of imaging is changing, and we have to change how we approach imaging. If photographers are to maintain their presence in the marketplace, they need to learn how to leverage CGI to their advantage.
The 6 Week Synchronous course was designed with one idea in mind: to teach photographers the basics of CGI so they can move into the marketplace, defend and grow their market presence successfully. To do that, we designed a foundational course that walks photographers through the fundamentals of CGI using Maxon’s industry-standard software, Cinema 4D.
Why C4D? Cinema 4D is one of the most powerful, reliable, and intuitive tools on the market. But just like any program, it requires dedication to learn.
If photographers are going to take full advantage of the benefits of CGI, they need a solid knowledge base and the confidence to create and make job offers. The CGI for Photographers 6 Week Course Certificate of Completion aims to do just that, giving students physical proof of their accomplishment. Students learn the entire CGI creation process from using primitive objects to creating textures, lighting, rendering, and post-production.
WHAT DO STUDENTS NEED TO DO?
To earn the Certificate of Completion, students must complete at least 90% of the course material on proedu.io and score at least 80% onMaxon’s Elementary Knowledge Test. This proves they will have learned enough about the fundamentals of CGI to create their own work or to take higher-level CGI training.
The certification says loud and clear that the student has put in the effort, studied, and gained the knowledge they need to move forward with CGI confidently.
NO PRESSURE
We also understand that our students have lives, and circumstances can make it difficult to attend class regularly or make the weekly live Office Hours. That’s why we’ve given students up to 1 year to access their course on proedu.io and reach the required 90% completion rate so they can take their test. At any time, students can go back and re-watch any section of the tutorial, or even watch the recorded Office Hours if they weren’t able to attend.
Students not able to complete the course the first time may even be able to apply to audit the next live course to get access to direct feedback and help from our instructor, Dustin Valkema, as long as they do not owe any back tuition and are in good standing with PRO EDU. All students are also granted lifetime access to the Community Discord, where they can get help and network with their peers.
It’s important to note, however, that the student’s enrollment in the course will expire 1 year from their enrollment date, and the Cinema 4D Student License will expire 1 year from the date of issuance.
In addition to what they will learn from the 6 Week Course, any students who earn their Certificate of Completion will receive discounts and priority seating at higher-level PRO EDU CGI training courses.
CONCLUSION
The Certificate of Completion for the CGI for Photographers 6 Week Synchronous Course requires a 90% content completion rate, and a passing score of 80% on Maxon’s Elementary Knowledge Test.
But it helps photographers build an entirely new skill set that will give them a distinct advantage in the changing market. In fact, at least 3 students got paying client work in CGI before the first course even ended!
The certificate also gets graduated students discounts on continuing CGI education, and is the first step in applying to the PRO EDU CGI Guild...but that’s still a secret.
If you want to get your hands on that hot little certificate, keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of the next CGI for Photographers 6 Week Course!
